Finding a reliable car under PKR 1 million in Pakistan can be challenging, but several models stand out for their affordability, durability, and low maintenance.
Here are the Top 10 used cars available under a million in Pakistan for 2025, along with a quick summary of each make, model, and typical condition:
The Suzuki Mehran is Pakistan’s go-to budget car and the most famous one due to cheap parts and ease of maintenance. Most options are older carburetor models, but EFI versions (post-2012) are also available. Condition varies; prioritize well-maintained, accident-free units, and watch out for rust and outdated safety features.
The Daihatsu Coure offers a slightly more refined drive than the Mehran with better comfort and suspension. Models from 2006 to 2010 are common. Check for rust and engine wear. Good for city driving, but the supply of parts may be limited outside major cities.
The Suzuki Alto (Old Shape) is popular for its build quality, compact design, and city agility. Models from the 2000s are common in this price range. Recently people are swapping the 1000cc engine with a Japanese 660cc with an automatic gearbox, and additionally, adding power steering and power window features makes this car a complete package within 1 million Pakistani rupees.
The Suzuki Cultus is spacious for a hatchback with reasonable power and good parts availability. Models from the early 2000s are available. Watch for engine rebuilds or major accidents, as many units have been heavily used in Careem, Uber, and Indrive ride-hailing services.
The Hyundai Santro is known for its unique shape and performance. Parts are a bit expensive, but it’s a strong city car. 2003-2007 models can be found. Check for electrical issues and proper maintenance. Back in the mid-2000s nobody liked it much; now it is the perfect hatchback available in the price range.
Kia Classic An affordable sedan option, often under 1 million. Basic comfort and features. Check for rust and worn interiors, as most units are aged.
The Suzuki Margalla holds a significant place in Pakistan’s automotive history, introduced in 1992 as a locally assembled sedan version of the second-generation Suzuki Cultus (known as the Suzuki Swift globally). Equipped with an 8-valve SOHC 1300cc G13 carbureted engine, it quickly became a popular choice for families and individuals seeking an affordable, reliable, and relatively spacious car for its time. While it may lack modern features like airbags or advanced safety systems, its simple mechanics ensured easy maintenance and readily available, inexpensive spare parts. Despite being discontinued in 1998, replaced by the Suzuki Baleno, the Margalla remains a common sight on Pakistani roads, a testament to its durability and long-standing appeal in the country’s used car market.
The Honda Civic, particularly its fifth-generation model produced from 1991 to 1995 (often affectionately nicknamed the “Dolphin” in Pakistan due to its sleek, somewhat rounded profile), holds a legendary status in the country’s automotive landscape. This era of Civic marked a significant shift towards a more aerodynamic and modern design compared to its boxier predecessors, featuring a low-slung stance and distinctively curved lines. Locally assembled by Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan, it quickly gained immense popularity for its spirited performance, comfortable ride, and Honda’s renowned reliability. Available with various engine options, including efficient 1.5L and more powerful 1.6L VTEC units, the “Dolphin” offered a balance of fuel economy and driving pleasure. Even decades later, these models remain highly sought after in the used car market, admired by enthusiasts for their tunability and by everyday drivers for their enduring build quality and readily available spare parts.
The Suzuki Baleno holds a notable position in the Pakistani automobile market, particularly the first generation (1998-2005), which was locally assembled and succeeded the Suzuki Margalla. Initially offering a more refined driving experience with features like power steering, EFI engines, and a 16-valve setup (G13BB engine), it was perceived as a step up in terms of technology and comfort for Suzuki sedan buyers. While lauded for its powerful engine, good road grip, and comfortable ride, it also faced some common issues, notably with ignition coils and susceptibility to rust due to thinner sheet metal, which sometimes gave mechanics trouble. Despite its discontinuation in favor of the Suzuki Liana, the Baleno remains a popular choice in the used car market for its robust chassis and surprisingly good performance, making it a viable option for those seeking a budget-friendly and reasonably fun-to-drive sedan.
An affordable, fuel-efficient hatchback. Spare parts can be scarce, but many examples are available under 1 million, the drive is pretty comfortable as compared to Suzuki Alto and Cultus in this price point, however the parts availability is only restricted to Rawalpindi and Lahore, similar engine swapping option is available to convert this to 660cc as Suzuki Alto.
NOTE
Most cars in this budget will be 10-20 years old with varying mileage and wear. It is crucial to inspect each car in person, ideally with a trusted mechanic. Look for a clean interior, no major rust, and a sound engine. Service records and accident history are major pluses.
These models represent the best balance of value, comfort, and reliability for buyers on a tight budget in Pakistan’s used car market in 2025.

LAHORE: Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SEWL) has announced that the prices of its Haval vehicles will remain unchanged, despite the new New Energy Vehicles (NEV) Adoption Levy introduced in the recently announced 2025-26 Federal Budget.
In an official press release, Sazgar Motors stated its decision to absorb the increase in the new tax, ensuring that the final prices of their vehicles remain “UNCHANGED!”
The company emphasized its commitment as a “responsible and customer-focused organization,” highlighting its consistent proactive measures to protect the interests of its “valued HAVAL family.”
This move by Sazgar Motors comes as a relief to potential buyers, as the new NEV Adoption Levy was anticipated to increase the cost of electric and hybrid vehicles. By absorbing the additional tax, Sazgar aims to maintain affordability and continue promoting the adoption of new energy vehicles in the market.
This announcement underscores Sazgar’s dedication to its customers and its strategy to navigate the evolving tax landscape without passing the burden onto consumers.

Motorcycle riders in Pakistan are once again facing increased costs, as Atlas Honda has announced another price hike for its motorbikes, effective from July 1, 2025. This move is set to impact thousands of daily commuters and enthusiasts alike, further adding to the financial pressures already felt by consumers.
Atlas Honda attributes these adjustments to various economic factors, including the recently imposed 1% Carbon Levy on imported motorcycle engines in the FY25-26 budget, which is being passed directly to the consumers. While Pakistan’s inflation rate has recently seen a decline to a nine-year low of 4.49% in FY25, and the PKR to USD exchange rate has remained relatively stable around 283-284, the combination of new taxes and other production costs continues to push retail prices upwards.
The increases span across Atlas Honda’s entire lineup, from the economical CD 70 to the more premium CB 150F models.
The popular CD 70 and CD 70 Dream have both seen a Rs. 2,000 increase, now priced at Rs. 159,900 and Rs. 170,900 respectively. The Pridor model is up by Rs. 3,000, reaching Rs. 211,900.
The widely used CG 125, including its Self-Start and Gold Edition variants, has experienced a significant jump of Rs. 4,000. The standard CG 125 now costs Rs. 238,900, with its self-start versions going for Rs. 286,900 and Rs. 296,900.
For the higher-end models, the CB 125F, CB 150F, and CB 150F Special Edition have all seen a Rs. 6,000 increase, reaching Rs. 396,900, Rs. 499,900, and Rs. 503,900 respectively.
These frequent adjustments to honda motorcycles latest price continue to strain consumer budgets, especially for those who rely on motorcycles for their livelihood and daily transport. As Atlas Honda holds a dominant share of the local motorcycle market, these price changes have a widespread effect on affordability and purchasing power across the country.
Model | Previous Price (Rs.) | New Price (Rs.) | Increase (Rs.) |
CD 70 | 157,900 | 159,900 | 2,000 |
CD 70 Dream | 168,900 | 170,900 | 2,000 |
Pridor | 208,900 | 211,900 | 3,000 |
CG 125 | 234,900 | 238,900 | 4,000 |
CG 125 Self-Start | 282,900 | 286,900 | 4,000 |
CG 125 Gold Edition | 292,900 | 296,900 | 4,000 |
CB 125F | 390,900 | 396,900 | 6,000 |
CB 150F | 493,900 | 499,900 | 6,000 |
CB 150F Special Edition | 497,900 | 503,900 | 6,000 |
The ongoing challenge for consumers is to manage these rising costs in an already tight economic climate.

MG Motors Pakistan proudly marked a significant milestone in its journey toward smarter, cleaner mobility with the Line-Off Ceremony of the 1000th locally assembled MG HS Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) at its state-of-the-art plant in Lahore.
This achievement reflects the brand’s continued commitment to revolutionizing the automotive landscape in Pakistan with cutting-edge technology, luxury, and sustainability. Since its official launch in October 2024 and the start of local production in January 2025, the MG HS PHEV has rapidly gained popularity among Pakistani consumers, thanks to its design, low running costs, and eco-friendly drive.
With over 900 units already delivered and growing demand across Pakistan, the 1000th vehicle line-off stands as a testament to MG’s growing impact on Pakistan’s hybrid vehicle segment.
As part of its customer-first approach, MG Pakistan recently announced a major upgrade to the HS PHEV, replacing the standard portable charger with a powerful 7KW fast charger—completely free of additional cost to the customers. This enhancement addresses previous customer concerns about long charging durations and effectively reduces the vehicle’s charging time by nearly half. The original portable charger will now be offered as an accessory.
“We are proud to roll out the 1000th MG HS PHEV,” said Syed Asif Ahmed, Generaler of the Marketing Division. “The MG HS PHEV is an ideal solution for urban mobility. This moment not only highlights our production strength but also reinforces our promise to provide advanced, accessible hybrid technology that meets the evolving needs of Pakistani drivers. In response to the voice of the customer, MG has upgraded the Charger to 7 kW for free with the aim to reduce the charging time significantly.”
The MG HS PHEV continues to lead as a premium hybrid SUV, delivering over 50km of pure electric range, advanced safety features, modern tech, and an efficient driving experience—making it a smart choice for commuters seeking sustainable and stylish transportation.
MG Motors Pakistan remains at the forefront of hybrid and electric vehicle innovation and is committed to shaping a cleaner, smarter future for mobility in the country.
